1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files websites store in your browser. They let a site remember things between visits, for example whether you’ve accepted our cookie banner, or whether you’re logged in. Some cookies are essential. Others are optional and only set when you consent.

Dragon Sports Media Limited operates the Dragon Team contributor hub and a network of independently branded sport editorial sites. Dragon Sports Media Limited (registered separately) and DragonBet are also part of the wider Lovells Group. DragonBet is licensed by the UK Gambling Commission (licence 64908).

3. The cookies we use

3.1 Necessary (always set)

Required for the basic operation of the site. We can’t switch these off.

  • WordPress login cookies: keep you signed in when you’re logged in as a contributor or admin (set on login, expire on logout or after 14 days)
  • dfc_cookie_consent: remembers your cookie banner choice (set on banner interaction, 12 month lifetime, localStorage)
  • wp-settings, wp-settings-time: WordPress UI preferences for logged-in users

3.2 Analytics (consent required)

Only set if you choose "Accept all" in the cookie banner.

  • _ga, _ga_* (Google Analytics 4): track session info, page views, and engagement. Used in aggregate to improve the site. Set with IP anonymisation. Lifetime: 2 years.

3.3 What we don’t use

  • Advertising cookies
  • Cross-site identity-graph trackers (no LiveRamp, Zeotap or similar)
  • Social-network embedded trackers (no Facebook Pixel, no LinkedIn Insight)

4. Consent and your preferences

Non-essential cookies are blocked by default until you make a choice on the cookie banner. Your choice is remembered for 12 months, after which we ask again.

You can review or change your preferences at any time:

  • Clear the dfc_cookie_consent entry in your browser’s localStorage to re-trigger the banner
  • Use your browser’s own cookie controls; most browsers let you block or delete cookies per site

Withdrawing consent does not delete cookies already set. To clear those, use your browser’s "clear site data" option.

5. Third-party services and international transfers

Some cookies are set by services we use. Each has a Data Processing Agreement in place with us. See our Data Processing Agreement for full detail.
