We commission freelance sports journalists, photographers and videographers across the Dragon Sports Media Limited content network. Here’s how the relationship works, end to end.
Apply once
You fill out the apply form at dragonfc.co.uk/apply. Tell us your sectors, formats, rates per article and how much capacity you have per month. Drop in a couple of portfolio links. Five minutes.
We review applications in batches, usually within two weeks of submission. Your dashboard shows your status the whole time.
Get matched, not chased
When approved, you’re added to our contributor pool. There’s no retainer, no exclusivity, no rota. We commission directly when there’s a brief that matches what you do, at the rates you’ve set.
That means some contributors get their first commission within days. Others wait longer because we don’t yet have demand in their specific niche. Keeping your profile current is the fastest way to get matched.
Briefs are the contract
Each commission is its own engagement. The brief email lays out scope, deadline, fee and rights. You confirm, deliver, invoice monthly. Standard 30-day terms.
No standing retainers, no minimum monthly commitments. Take what suits you. Decline what doesn’t.
You write under the network site’s brand
The Dragon Sports Media Limited content network runs as separate editorial brands. You write under whichever brand the commission is for, with that site’s voice and style. We share a short style guide alongside your first brief for each site.
Pay sits with finance, not with us
Approved contributors invoice monthly. Standard 30-day terms. Specific payment dates are set in each brief. Finance handles the rest.
One pitch, in one line
